  On April 6th, writers on Substack could not embed tweets in their posts anymore. This was because Twitter blocked likes, retweets, and comments on tweets with Substack newsletter links. Moreover, users could not pin tweets with a Substack link to their profile. Twitter made their code that selected which tweets appear on users’ timelines available on GitHub . After March 31st, everyone in the world had access to the codes. It also published a blog post clarifying this move. The blog post explained several considerations and steps of the algorithm. Wade , the police started to use social media to track people’s abortion-related communications.  Recent news showed that chats in social media could be evidence during prosecution. According to Mashable , this spring, Jessica Burgess and her daughter will stand trial in Nebraska for performing an illegal abortion, with Meta, Facebook's parent company, providing crucial evidence. Burgess allegedly assisted her daughter in locating and taking abortion pills. TechCrunch reported that Facebook provided chat logs to the officers. Meta stated that they practiced the "valid legal warrants from local law enforcement". Facebook is not the only company sharing data. Twitter Makes SMS Two-Factor Authentication Exclusive for Twitter Blue Subscribers

Twitter posted a new announcement on its  official blog , saying that non-Twitter Blue subscribers have 30 days to change to another security method. After the 20th of March 2023, only subscribers can use text messages as two-factor authentication.  What is the current 2FA on Twitter? In order to log in with 2FA, users must also provide a code or security key in addition to their password. There are   three methods of 2FA : text message, authentication app, and security key.  Why did Twitter make the change? INSTAGRAM CO-FOUNDERS CREATED ARTIFACT, A NEW AI APP

Four years after Instagram's founders, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, left Instagram, they came back to the area of social media with a new AI social media called ARTIFACT. It is now available to join its waitlists for both Android and IOS app.  The word ARTIFACT is defined by Social Media Today as 'articles, facts, and artificial intelligence’. By using the AI technology, the app pushes what the readers like based on their in-app activities. ARTIFACT was described by PlatFormer as 'TikTok for the text' . Its creator, Kevin Systrom, said it is 'a personalized news feed'. Similar to TikTok, the app automatically pushes news articles for users based on their searching and reading history.
