TikTok Created AI Generated Profile Pictures

The process goes like this

Users will be prompted by the tool to upload a set of three to ten pictures and select between two to five distinct styles for the AI-generated images. After completing this step, it may take a while for the photos to be produced. Once they are finished, you have the option to download them, choose one to use as your profile picture or share one on your TikTok story.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra showed how it exactly worked. The process showed how to upload your selfie images, including notes on how TikTok will use, and delete, any pictures that you send it.

Test in Some Areas

TikTok planned to take it as an experiment in some selected regions. They told TechCrunch that “We’re always thinking about new ways to add value to the community and enrich the TikTok experience, as we continue to build a safe place that entertains, inspires creativity, and drives culture,” according to TikTok spokesperson Zachary Kizer. “In a few select regions, we’re experimenting with a new way to create and share profile pictures with the TikTok community.” According to their words, they want to add more creative and exciting features to capture users’ attention. Also, to be cautious about the new project’s return, they first test in selected areas.

New Streams of Revenue

TikTok could explore a new revenue stream by offering functional tools, as commented by Social Media Today. Many users are already paying for similar tools, so there is a ready market for TikTok to tap into. By doing so, TikTok could develop its own AI capabilities while increasing revenue by offering paid tools.

Trend–AI in Social Media

Witnessing the growing popularity of ChatGtp, many social media companies add AI features in social to their platforms. For example, Snapchat added an AI chatbot and LinkedIn introduced AI-generated profiles. Proficient in data collection and analysis, AI features efficiently help users with content generation and finding interesting things to browse. However, as AI becomes popular, concerns about privacy and whether it would replace some jobs also arise. Therefore, social media platforms should balance its pros and cons, thus bringing more benefits to users.
